  • when using source images from the nerve series of blurred photographs the final composite looks like a microscopic section of brain cells, seemingly chaotic connections between nodes. patterns from the macro- have been transformed into patterns at the micro. continually applying edge-detection to the composite forces the pattern into a closed loop, an almost uniform field of noise from which there is no release… tending towards a monochrome in grey. perhaps this is where the truth of the nerve images lies, in grey blankness, a mist. our nature is defined in repetition, schemes built by addition. our thoughts are pinpoints of feeling but at the edge, it seems as though everything suddenly becomes blurred and indistinct, out of reach.
