exploring how random dots crystallise into structures. is this our foundation, our fundamental, upon which everything is built?

  • this project started as a stream of random numbers, the 1's and 0's that made up the data were visualised as a grid of dots.

the dots were fragmented by taking low resolution screen shots and layering these into composite images
colours were incorporated into the images by masking photos of kylie minogue with the black and white random dots

a parallel strand of work involved dripping ink on to paper in random positions on a grid and scanning in the dots, which were then compiled and composited as outlines.
